  • 'The Osbournes' Season 2 premiere draws 6.6 million viewers

    Reuters reports that Tuesday's second season opener of MTV's hit reality series, which featured legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon at a White House dinner, drew an average of 6.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched cable TV program of the night, the network said on Wednesday. The episode, which also featured daughter Kelly singing the Madonna classic "Papa Don't Preach" at the June MTV Movie Awards, was hotly anticipated in part because the first season of the series had brought the family cult celebrity status.

    The WB has announced that "The Bachelor" creator Mike Fleiss' newest reality TV series, "High School Reunion," will premiere on Sunday, January 5 at 9 p.m. and air again on Thursday, January 9 at 8 p.m. The show will remain in that viewer-friendly twice-a-week pattern throughout its six-episode run.
  • The WB Plans "Reality TV Night" on Thursdays

    Variety reports that the WB network has decided to group a cluster of new reality shows on Thursday nights starting in January. The so-called "Reality TV Night" will feature Surreal Life -- billed as "Real World"-meets-D-list-celebrities -- and High School Reunion, a 6-episode series about people who want to exorcise their inner feelings of dorkiness left over from their teenage years.

  • HBO to air Nevada brothel 'Cathouse' reality TV "documentary" on December 8th

    Call it "Big Brother" meets "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." Reuters reports that HBO will air a documentary next month in which patrons of a Nevada brothel happily appear on camera negotiating and consorting with prostitutes. "Cathouse," a one-hour special that HBO will telecast after the season finale of its mob drama "The Sopranos" on December 8th, takes viewers behind closed doors at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch in Carson City, Nevada, where prostitution is legal. The film is part of HBO's "America Undercover" documentary series.
  • 'Bachelor' Aaron Buerge to guest star on November 26th 'Less Than Perfect'

    TVGuide reports that newly engaged Bachelor banker Aaron Buerge will make his acting debut on the Tuesday, November 26th episode of ABC's "Less Than Perfect." He'll play one of two men fighting over series star Sara Rue.

    Zap2It.com reports that Liza Minnelli and husband David Gest have already gone on the public-relations offensive against VH1 over the cancellation of a planned reality show about their lives, now it appears the couple is ready for a legal battle as well. Minnelli and Gest announced they have hired attorney Michael Sherman -- who recently (unsuccessfully) defended Michael Skakel in the Kennedy relative's murder trial -- to seek "appropriate remedies" in their dispute with VH1, the AP reports. What such remedies are, at this point, remains unclear.

    Although millions of viewers saw Aaron Beurge choose Helene Eksterowicz as his bride on Wednesday's finale of "The Bachelor," on Thursday the couple told ABCNEWS' Good Morning America that they would have a very lengthy engagement. "We're not going to Vegas next weekend, or anything like that... I don't think people should be in a rush to walk down the aisle," said Buerge, a 28-year-old banker from Springfield, Montana. "We're going to be diligent and take our sweet time to get to know each other better," he said.
